Designed to improve body composition and everyday performance, our Transformation training involves smaller groups, more personal coaching and resistance training based on progressive overload utilising barbells.

Lifting with technique and safety in mind is always our top priority. Progressive overload involves the gradual increase of stress on the body using increased weights and / or reps; the use of barbells allows us to push boundaries that would otherwise be restricted with the use of kettlebells and dumbbells. The ultimate physical goal of Transformation training is for the individual to build muscle (and, subsequently, strength), whilst reducing fat and decreasing body fat %;

the physical responses to resistance training include greater stamina, improved mobility and balance, improved posture, decreased risk of injury, increased bone density and strength and reduced risk of osteoporosis, the reduction or prevention of cognitive decline in older people and, finally, improved sleep and avoidance of insomnia. Of equal importance is the mental effect of resistance training; in particular an improved sense of well-being, a boost to your self-confidence and self-esteem, improved body image and overall mood. There’s a common misconception that resistance training is for gym bros and meatheads – we at Big 5 believe resistance training is essential in creating fit, healthy and strong individuals regardless of age or gender. Come and discover the best version of yourselves with us.
